Mission Statement

God has called Healing Waters Community Fellowship to glorify Him by fulfilling the Great Commission, as stated in Matthew 28:18 - 20. Through the preaching and teaching of the Word of God, we will create a loving, accepting and nurturing body of believers that fosters restoration and ongoing personal spiritual growth. This church family is committed to ministering to the practical needs of our local community.

Our History

Healing Waters Ministries was founded in 1987 and incorporated in 1988. The founding Pastor, James Simpson, led the congregation until his retirement in 1998. Dr. Joseph Pearson then served as Senior Pastor until his retirement in 2007. Our current Senior Pastor, David Cooper, assumed his role on February 4, 2007.  In February 2008 we changed our name to Healing Waters Community Fellowship to better identify our mission and purpose.

Our Vision

Our goal is to become a hub of spiritual activity as we seek to meet the needs of the people in this community. We envision being a truly integrated multicultural, multiethnic, and multigenerational church family, bound together by the love of Christ, and united in a common purpose – ushering in the kingdom of God by introducing men, women and children to His beloved Son Jesus, the Savior of the whole world.

Our Worship Style

Our style of worship is a blend of traditional and contemporary music, ranging from the classic hymns to current day choruses. Each participant is free to worship in whatever style he or she is comfortable with. Just as we don’t have a dress code, neither do we have a “worship code.” If you enjoy raising your hands or clapping, or prefer to sit quietly and meditate on the words of the song, you are welcome to do so.

 

Statement of Faith

We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired written Word of God.

We believe that there is only one true and living God, eternally existent in three distinct Beings: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ. We believe in His virgin birth; that He lived a sinless life; that He died on the cross, was buried, and was raised to life on the third day.

We believe in the imminent bodily return of Jesus Christ for His own.

We believe that Jesus Christ alone is the head of the Church.

We believe that all people have sinned and are in need of salvation.

We believe that salvation is by the grace of God to all who personally receive Jesus Christ into their life as Savior and Lord.

We believe that the assurance of eternal life is the present possession of every believer and is guaranteed by the seal of the Holy Spirit.
